Wow can you believe it, there are only 7 weeks until Christmas! How fast has this year flown, just crazy.
It is also the start of a new challenge at Bizzy Becs Store Blog and our challenge this month is 'Anything Goes'.
I have been playing with one of my new Darkroom Door stamps, Robin isn't it devine, so very cute. I stamped it onto some watercolour paper and coloured it with Distress Ink Pads in Weathered Wood and added a touch of Scattered Straw for the beak.
I also used Spellbinder Petite Circles and a Lawn Fawn die - Tag You're It. This was teamed up with some gorgeous Green Tara Roses in various sizes. The sentiment best wishes is a new Tim Holtz stamp Simple Sayings and is from my own stash.
Bizzy Becs online store has a great selection of Stamps, Distress Ink Pads, Dies, Flowers and other goodies for all your crafting needs, so pop on over and check it out. MFT dies have just been added to the store too!

Hi, well can you believe how many sleeps are left until Christmas. This year has just flown by, so so scary. Recently I joined on online group that use inspiring quotes as Art Journal Prompts and it is so much fun. Today I would like to share with you the first of my journal pages inspired by a quote by Maya Angelou ~ Be a Rainbow in someone else's Cloud!
The background is a paper napkin with skeleton leaves which I attached to my journal with gel medium. I then gessoed over the napkin to tone down the leaves onto which I sprayed Dylusions Ink Spraysand spritzed them heavily with water so that the coloured pooled and ran.
The colours used are Bubblegum Pink, Lemon Zest, Fresh Lime, Squeezed Orange, Vibrant Turquoise, London Blue and White Linen.
As I know that Dylusions Inks will always move when wet I sealed the area that was to be stamped with Schmincke Universal Fixative and allowed it to dray thoroughly before applying the paint.
The image is a Darkroom Door Line Art Stamp called "Leafy Lady" which I stamped onto the page, hand drew shoulders and coloured the face and shoulders with Ceramcoat acrylic paints, Molotow markers and Prisma colour pencils.
A reminder that there is still still time to join us for this months "Anything Goes" challenge at Bizzy Becs and that the Coupon Salehas been extended to the 31st October so hop on over and check out the recently added goodies at the store.
Thanks for dropping by, have a fabulous crafty week.
Hi welcome back to another month and the start of another challenge at Bizzy Becs.
Today I would like to share with you my card for this month.
Quite by accident I was playing with my Liquid Pearls ( Gold Pearl and Onyx Pearl) and was trying to put dots around the flowers and it looked well just awful. So in an attempt to remedy this I got out the old credit card and scrapped the pearls around the background and tahdah ; success, love how it turned out.
The stamp set I used is from Darkroom Door and is called Bold Blossomsand together with lots of others is available via Bizzy Becs online store. Because I had already embossed the flowers with white embossing powder it acted as a resist and just by wiping with a baby wipe I was able to remove the liquid pearls from the flowers.
I inked around the edge of the card with Distress Inks in Pumice Stone and Black Soot, cut a little tag and using the sentiment from the set, embossed it with black embossing powder and a couple of rows of machine stitching around the outside, done.
Here is a little close up view of the finished embossing and background.
Thanks for popping in, please check out the rest of the DT gals inspiration here and join us for this months anything goes challenge.
Hi, just popping in to share the card I made for my lovely Dad for Fathers Day.
I wrapped some cardstock in silver foil tape and ran it through my Tim Holtz embossing folder, then painted it with black gesso and when it was almost dry I wipe it back to reveal the foil tape.
The lighthouse image is a Stamp It stamp that I have had for ages and this I stamped with Brushed Courdoroy Distress Ink onto a tag which was diecut using Memory Box Distressed Tag Die and stamped with the matching stamp using Brushed Courdoroy ink. The edges were then inked with Walnut Stain Distress Ink and when it was dry it was painted with a coat of Tim Holtz Distress Crackle Paint in Rock Candy. I also cut a decorative strip using Testatina Border Die by Memory Box.
For the tie on the tag I used a strip of Green Tara Burlap Ribbon and pulled it apart as a ribbon and attached a ships wheel charm for decoration.
For me the countdown is now on as it will be school holidays in a few days and I am looking forward to spending some time catching up with family, friends and some crafting.
Yeah! Spring is here and I just love spring, it is my most favourite season of all, flowers blooming, birds busy making nests and lots of butterflies and dragonflies flitting around the garden.
September is also the start of a new "Anything Goes" challenge at Bizzy Becs and the card I made features a Darkroom Door stamp "Butterfly" which I have coloured with Distress Stains (Rusty Hinge, Scattered Straw, Squeezed Lemonade, Peacock Feathers, Peeled Paint and Broken China). I have also used Darkroom Doors Texture Stamp "French Script" for behind the Butterfly and Garden Greetings for the sentiment. I also used the Distress Stains to dye the silk ribbon. It is interesting to note that even through I used the same colours as I coloured the Butterfly with, when combined onto the ribbon it has gone a bit more green that I had hoped - note to self a bit more blue next time.
There is another fabulous prize up for grabs this month for our lucky winner a Die-Namites Die - kindly donated byBizzy Becs online store, so please join us for this months challenge, we love seeing your creations. Before you do check out the Design Teams creations and welcome our new DT member Mandy.
I double stamped the Carnation first using by black stamp pad and then went over the top using Distress Ink Pads in Festive Berries, and on the stem I used Shabby Shutters, and Peeled Paint. I inked around the dictionary meaning with Old Paper.
Don't forget there is still time to join us for this months "Anything Goes" Challenge.
Thanks for dropping by hope you have a fabulous day.
